The first describes a treatment function; the second makes a whole-system water-safety claim.<\/p>\n<h3>Ozone should not be treated as permanent residual protection<\/h3>\n<p>In the cold-plunge\/public-health framework reviewed for this article, ozone does not provide a persistent disinfectant residual throughout the retained water.
