Current evidence does not justify declaring infrared or traditional sauna universally healthier.
Research on the two modalities uses different equipment, thermal conditions, exposure protocols, populations and outcomes. A finding observed under one type of sauna exposure should therefore not automatically be treated as evidence for the other.
